What is a Martingale Collar?A martingale collar has a few different names- one being a "humane choke collar". Martingales are a mix between a regular collar and a choke collar. Martingales have two loops-one goes around the dog's neck and the other attaches to the leash and tightens/loosens as the dog pulls. The difference between a choke collar and a martingale: martingales only tighten to a set amount while choke collars will never stop tighening.

Why should I choose a Martingale collar? There are many reasons- -prevents dog from slipping out of collar -reduces leash pulling -prevents choking -safer than choke and regular collars while on walks (both can damage throat with excessive pulling) -easier to apply than a harness -usually cheaper than a harness -beautiful designs available

How do I measure my dog for a martingale collar?Measure in 2 locations 1. The neck where the collar witll sit. 2. The head around the ears. (Refer to photo). Measuring around the head is necessary because this collar does not have a buckle therefore to wear it, it slides over the dog's head and onto the neck. Release collar to widest setting when sliding over the head. When the collar is around the dog's neck, adjust to fit snugly but not tightly.
